Have you considered he who turns his back, 33 who at first gave a little, then later held back? 34 Hath he knowledge of the Unseen so that he seeth? 35 Or hath he not had news of what is in the books of Moses 36 And of Ibrahim who faithfully fulfilled? 37 To wit, that a burthened soul shall not bear the burthen of another. 38 and that man shall have only that for which he strives; 39 And that his effort will soon be scrutinised? 40 whereupon he shall be requited for it with the fullest requital; 41 And that unto thy Lord is the goal. 42 And that it is He who makes [one] laugh and weep 43 And that it is He Who gave death and gave life? 44 And that it is He Who has created the two pairs, male and female? 45 From seed when it is emitted. 46 and that He will bring about the Second Creation; 47 And that He it is Who enriches and gives to hold; 48 And that He it is Who is the Lord of Sirius; 49 and that it is He who destroyed the ancient [tribes of] Ad 50 And the Thamud nor gave them a lease of perpetual life. 51 and before them the people of Noah who were even more unjust and insolent; 52 and the Subverted City He also overthrew, 53 so that there covered it that which covered. 54 About which, then, of thy Sustainer's powers canst thou [still] remain in doubt? 55 This [Prophet] is a warner like the former warners. 56 The approaching event has come near. 57 None but God can avert it. 58 Do ye then wonder at this recital? 59 And you laugh at it and weep not, 60 and divert yourselves all the while? 61 So fall you down in prostration to Allah, and worship Him (Alone). ۩ 62
