The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
36 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Spider (Al-Ankaboot) before The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Woe to the stinters who, 1 Those who, when they take by measure from mankind, exact the full, 2 Whilst when they measure or weigh for them, give less. 3 Do those not think that they shall be raised up 4 on a great day 5 when mankind will stand before the Lord of the Universe? 6 No indeed, the Book of the immoral is in Sijjeen. 7 Ah! what will convey unto thee what Sijjin is! - 8 (It is) a marked Book. 9 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 10 those that give the lie to the Day of Recompense. 11 Which none denieth save each criminal transgressor, 12 Who, when thou readest unto him Our revelations, saith: (Mere) fables of the men of old. 13 No! Rather, the stain has covered their hearts of that which they were earning. 14 Nay, verily, from [the grace of] their Sustainer shall they on that Day be debarred; 15 Then they shall roast in Hell, 16 and it will be said to them: 'This is that which you belied' 17 No! Indeed, the record of the righteous is in 'illiyyun. 18 Would that you knew what Illiyin is! 19 (It is) a marked Book, 20 which those angels closest to God will bear witness to. 21 Verily the virtuous shall be in Delight, 22 On thrones, they shall gaze; 23 You shall see upon their faces the glow of bliss. 24 They will be given a drink of pure wine, sealed, 25 which have the fragrance of musk. This is the kind of place for which one should really aspire. 26 Blended with the water of Tasnim, (heights ultimate of evolution), 27 a fountain at which the chosen ones shall drink. 28 Indeed the guilty used to laugh at the believers. 29 when them passed them by winking at one another, 30 and when they returned to their people they returned blithely, 31 And when they saw them they said: Lo! these have gone astray. 32 And withal, they have no call to watch over [the beliefs of] others... 33 But this Day (the Day of Resurrection) those who believe will laugh at the disbelievers 34 upon couches gazing. 35 Are not the disbelievers paid for what they used to do? 36
