The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
22 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Sun (Al-Shams) before The Fig (Al-Teen)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the heaven of the constellations! 1 By the Promised Day! 2 By the witness and the witnessed! 3 (Self-)destroyed were the owners of the ditch 4 The people of the fuelled blazing fire. 5 When they sat by it 6 and were witnessing what they did to the believers. 7 and their revenge on them was only because they believed in Allah, the Almighty, the Praised, 8 Who, to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And Allah is Witness over everything. 9 Those who persecuted the believing men and women and never repented, there is for them the punishment of Gehenna (Hell), and for them the punishment of the burning. 10 Lo! those who believe and do good works, theirs will be Gardens underneath which rivers flow. That is the Great Success. 11 Indeed, the seizing of your Lord is severe. 12 it is He who begins and repeats [His creation], 13 He is the All-forgiving, the Most Loving One, 14 Lord of the Throne, the Glorious, 15 Who does as He pleases. 16 Has there reached you the story of the soldiers - 17 Of the Fir'awn and the Thamud? 18 Yet those who deny the truth persist in denial. 19 and God is behind them, encompassing. 20 Nay; but this is a glorious Qur'an, 21 (Inscribed) in a Tablet Preserved! 22
True are the words of God the Almighty.
