۞ O mankind! ye are needers unto Allah, and Allah! He is the Self-Sufficient, the Praiseworthy 15 He could take you away if He pleased and bring a new creation (in your place). 16 that is surely no great matter for God. 17 And no burdened soul will carry another soul’s burden; and if a burdened soul calls another to share the burden, no one will carry any part of it, even if he is a close relative; O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), your warning only benefits those who fear their Lord without seeing and who keep the prayer established; and whoever cleansed himself, has cleansed for his own benefit; and towards Allah only is the return. 18 The blind and the seeing are not alike; 19 Nor darkness and light, 20 Nor is the shadow equal with the sun's full heat; 21 and neither are equal the living and the dead [of heart]. Behold, [O Muhammad,] God can make hear whomever He wills, whereas thou canst not make hear such as are [dead of heart like the dead] in their graves: 22 You, [O Muhammad], are not but a warner. 23 Lo! We have sent thee with the Truth, a bearer of glad tidings and a warner; and there is not a nation but a warner hath passed among them. 24 If they call you a liar, so had those before them called their apostles liars, who had come to them with clear proofs, scriptures and the splendent Book. 25 In the end did I punish those who rejected Faith: and how (terrible) was My rejection (of them)! 26
