Noah (Nooh)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
We sent Noah to his people, saying, 'Warn thy people, ere there come on them a painful chastisement.' 1 He said: "O my People! I am to you a Warner, clear and open: 2 "That you should worship Allah (Alone), be dutiful to Him, and obey me, 3 He will forgive your sins and will grant you respite till an appointed time. When the time appointed by God arrives, it cannot be postponed, if you only knew." 4 He said: "O my Lord! Verily, I have called my people night and day (i.e. secretly and openly to accept the doctrine of Islamic Monotheism). 5 but my call has only caused them to flee farther and farther away [from Thee]. 6 “And whenever I called them, so that You may forgive them, they always thrust their fingers into their ears, and covered themselves with their clothes, and remained stubborn and were extremely haughty.” 7 Then verily I have called unto them publicly 8 Then I conveyed the message to them, again, both in public and in private, 9 and told them, "Ask forgiveness from your Lord; He is All-forgiving". 10 'He will send rain to you in abundance; 11 And will give you increase of wealth and sons, and give you gardens and springs of water. 12 ‘What is the matter with you, that you do not desire honour from Allah?’ 13 And indeed He has created you through various grades: 14 "Have you not seen that God has created the seven heavens one above the other 15 setting in them the moon as a light and the sun as a lantern? 16 And Allah has caused you to grow out of the earth so wondrously, 17 ‘And He will then take you back to it, and again remove you from it.” 18 "'And God has made the earth a wide expanse for you, 19 for you, so that you may walk along its wide roads". 20
