The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa! 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned his back, striving. 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 And he said: I am your Lord, most high. 24 Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
