And We verily gave grace unto Moses and Aaron, 114 and We saved them with their nation from a great distress. 115 And We succoured them so that they became overcomers. 116 We gave them the explicit Book, 117 And We guided them both on the right way. 118 And We left for them (a goodly remembrance) among generations (to come) in later times; 119 "Peace upon Moses and Aaron." 120 Thus do We reward the righteous ones. 121 They are among Our faithful devotees. 122 Surely, Elias too was among the Messengers. 123 when he spoke [thus] to his people: "Will you not remain conscious of God? 124 “What! You worship Baal (an idol) and leave the Best Creator?” – 125 “Allah – Who is your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers?” 126 But they cried him lies; so they will be among the arraigned, 127 But not the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 128 We left him thus to be succeeded by a group [of followers] among the following generations -- 129 Peace be on Elias. 130 Verily, thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers, who perform good deeds totally for Allah's sake only - see V. 2:112). 131 Verily, he was one of Our believing slaves. 132 And Lot too was one of the Messengers. 133 We saved him and all his kinsmen, 134 except for an old woman who was among those that stayed behind. 135 Then We destroyed the others. 136 Verily, ye pass by their (sites), by day- 137 and by night. Will you not, then, use your reason? 138
