NOW, VERILY, it is We who have created man, and We know what his innermost self whispers within him: for We are closer to him than his neck-vein. 16 Behold, two (guardian angels) appointed to learn (his doings) learn (and noted them), one sitting on the right and one on the left. 17 The human being will certainly experience the agony of death 18 and (the human being will be told), "This is what you had been trying to run away from". 19 And the Horn shall be blown; that is the Day of Threat! 20 And every human being will come forward with [his erstwhile] inner urges and [his] conscious mind, 21 You were heedless of this. Now We have removed your veil and so your vision today is sharp. 22 And his accompanying angel said, “This is the record of your deeds, available with me.” 23 Do cast into hell every ungrateful, rebellious one, 24 hinderer of good, transgressor, causing others to doubt, 25 “The one who appointed another God along with Allah – so both of you fling him into the severe punishment.” 26 ۞ and his associate [Satan] will say, "Lord, I did not make him transgress, he had already gone far astray himself." 27 "Do not argue in My presence. I had announced the promise of doom in advance. 28 The Word will not be changed in My presence, nor am I an oppressor at all unto My bondmen. 29
