The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Woe unto the defrauders: 1 those who demand a full measure from others 2 but when they give by measurement or weight to others, they give them less. 3 Do they not think that they will be resurrected 4 On a mighty Day. 5 The day when everyone will stand before the Lord Of The Creation. 6 No indeed! Verily the deeds of the wicked are in the Record locked up in the prison-house! 7 And what can make you know what is sijjeen? 8 A record of misdeeds written. 9 Woe on that day to the rejecters, 10 those who give the lie to the [coming of] Judgment Day: 11 And none can deny it but the Transgressor beyond bounds the Sinner! 12 Who, when thou readest unto him Our revelations, saith: (Mere) fables of the men of old. 13 Nay! But on their hearts is the Ran (covering of sins and evil deeds) which they used to earn. 14 No indeed, on that Day they shall be veiled from their Lord. 15 Then they shall roast in Hell, 16 Further, it will be said to them: "This is the (reality) which ye rejected as false! 17 Nay, verily the record of the Righteous is (preserved) in 'Illiyin. 18 And what do you know what the Record of the exalted ones is? 19 (There is) a Register (fully) inscribed, 20 To which bear witness those brought nigh. 21 Verily the virtuous shall be in Bliss; 22 On Thrones (of Dignity) will they command a sight (of all things): 23 You will find in their faces the brightness of bliss. 24 They will be given to drink of pure wine, sealed. 25 whose seal is musk – so let all aspirants aspire after that – 26 And mixed with water of Tasnim, 27 a fountain at which the chosen ones shall drink. 28 Indeed the guilty used to laugh at the believers. 29 and whenever they pass by them, they wink at one another [derisively]; 30 and when they returned to their people they returned blithely, 31 And when they saw them, they said: Most surely these are in error; 32 And withal, they have no call to watch over [the beliefs of] others... 33 So, the believers will laugh at the infidels on that day, 34 On adorned couches, observing. 35 Did not the disbelievers get repaid for what they used to do? 36
