The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By heaven and the night-star! 1 Do you know what al-tariq is? 2 (It is a nightly radiant star). 3 There is no human being but has a protector over him (or her) (i.e. angels incharge of each human being guarding him, writing his good and bad deeds, etc.) 4 LET MAN, then, observe out of what he has been created: 5 He has been created from an ejected drop of fluid 6 That issueth from between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Surely He is able to bring him back 8 A day when the secrets will be examined. 9 and [man] will have neither strength nor helper! 10 By the sky (having rain clouds) which gives rain, again and again. 11 And [by] the earth which cracks open, 12 the Quran is the final word, 13 And is not a matter of amusement. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 but I too plan against them. 16 Therefore give them some respite give them some time. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
