And when your Lord called to Moses, saying: 'Go to the harmdoing nation, 10 the people of Pharaoh; will they not be godfearing?' 11 He said, "My Lord, indeed I fear that they will deny me 12 “I feel hesitant, and my tongue does not speak fast, therefore make Haroon also a Noble Messenger.” 13 And they have upon me a [claim due to] sin, so I fear that they will kill me." 14 He said: Nay, verily. So go ye twain with Our tokens. Lo! We shall be with you, Hearing. 15 So go ye twain unto Fir'awn and say: verily we are the apostles of the Lord of the Worlds, 16 Then send with us the children of Israel. 17 He (Pharaoh) said (to Moses): 'Did We not bring you up when you were a child? And have you not spent years of your life amongst us? 18 And you commited what you did, and you are ungrateful!" 19 Replied [Moses]: "I committed it while I was still going astray; 20 So I fled from you when I feared you, then my Lord granted me wisdom and made me of the apostles; 21 And is it a favor of which you remind me that you have enslaved the children of Israel? 22 Said Pharaoh, "And what is the Lord of the worlds?" 23 Moses replied, "The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if you want to be certain". 24 Fir'awn said unto those around him: hear ye not? 25 He said, 'Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers, the ancients.' 26 (The Pharaoh) said (to his nobles): "Your apostle who has been sent to you, is certainly mad." 27 He said, 'The Lord of the East and West, and what between them is, if you have understanding,' 28 Pharaoh said, "If you take any deity other than myself, I will throw you into prison," 29 Musa (Moses) said: "Even if I bring you something manifest (and convincing)?" 30 Said he: Bring it then, if you are of the truthful ones. 31 So (Moses) cast his staff, and lo, it turned into a living serpent. 32 Then he drew out his hand, and it was luminous to the onlookers. 33
