3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
Noah had called upon Us (earlier). See, how excellent We were in answering him! 75 We delivered him and his household from the great calamity; 76 and We made his seed the survivors, 77 And left (his name) for posterity. 78 Peace be upon Noah among all the nations. 79 That is how We reward those who do good. 80 Verily he was of Our bondmen believing. 81 Then We drowned the other (disbelievers and polytheists, etc.). 82 ۞ And Abraham indeed was of his inducement, 83 Recall what time he came unto his Lord with a heart whole. 84 Recall what time he said unto his father and his people: What is it that ye worship? 85 Why do you solicit false gods instead of God? 86 What is then your idea about the Lord of the worlds? 87 He then shot a glance at the stars. 88 and he said, 'Surely I am sick.' 89 and at that they turned their backs on him and went away. 90 Then he turned to their gods, and said: 'What do you eat? 91 What is amiss with you that you do not speak?" 92 Then he started striking them down with his right hand. 93 Then they advanced toward him, hastening. 94 Abraham said to them: “Do you worship what you yourselves have carved with your own hands 95 "When God has created you and what you make?" 96 They said, "Construct for him a furnace and throw him into the burning fire." 97 They plotted against him, but We brought humiliation upon them. 98 He said: "I will go to my Lord! He will surely guide me! 99 My Lord! grant me of the doers of good deeds. 100 (In response to this prayer) We gave him the good news of a prudent boy; 101 And [one day,] when [the child] had become old enough to share in his [father's] endeavours, the latter said: "O my dear son! I have seen in a dream that I should sacrifice thee: consider, then, what would be thy view!" [Ishmael] answered: "O my father! Do as thou art bidden: thou wilt find me, if God so wills, among those who are patient in adversity!" 102 And when they had both submitted and he put him down upon his forehead, 103 We called to him, "O Abraham, 104 you have confirmed your vision' As such We recompense the gooddoers. 105 For this was obviously a trial- 106 We ransomed him with a great sacrifice, 107 And We perpetuated (praise) to him among the later generations. 108 Peace be upon Abraham. 109 Thus indeed do We reward those who do right. 110 for he was truly one of our believing servants. 111 We gave Abraham the good news of Isaac, a prophet and a righteous man, 112 And We sent blessings upon him and Ishaq; and among their descendants some who do good deeds, and some who clearly wrong themselves. 113
