Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Nay! I swear by the day of resurrection. 1 And I swear by the reproaching soul [to the certainty of resurrection]. 2 Does man think that We cannot assemble his bones? 3 Indeed yes, We are able to shape his fingerstips yet again! 4 None the less man chooses to deny what lies ahead of him, 5 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Resurrection?' 6 So when the eyes will be blinded by light. 7 And the moon will be eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together 9 On that day man will cry out, “Where shall I flee?” 10 By no means! NO refuge! 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat on that day. 12 To man will be declared on that Day that which he hath sent on and left behind. 13 nay, but man shall against himself be an eye-witness, 14 even though he offer his excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 Surely on Us (devolves) the collecting of it and the reciting of it. 17 And when We read it, follow thou the reading; 18 And thereafter verily upon us is the expounding thereof. 19 Yet you love this hasty world 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 On that Day there shall be radiant faces, 22 Looking toward their Lord; 23 And that day will other faces be despondent, 24 Imagining that there will befall them a waiste-breaking calomity. 25 But, when (the soul) reaches the collar bone 26 and it is said, 'Who is an enchanter?' 27 and he knows that it is the time of parting; 28 and when leg is intertwined with leg, 29 that will be the time to be driven to one's Lord. 30
