The people of Lut denied the Noble Messengers. 160 When their brother Lout (Lot) said to them: "Will you not fear Allah and obey Him? 161 "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust. 162 so fear God and obey me. 163 And I ask of you no hire therefor; my hire is but with the Lord of the worlds. 164 What, do you come to the males of the world, 165 Leaving the consorts your Lord has made for you? But you are a people who exceed the bounds." 166 They said, "If you do not desist, Lot, you will surely be banished." 167 He said: verily I am of those who abhor your work. 168 My Lord, deliver me and my family from their wicked deeds." 169 So We delivered him and his household all. 170 except an old woman who was among those that stayed behind. 171 Then afterward We destroyed the others. 172 We rained upon them a rain, and evil is the rain (of stones) on those that are warned. 173 In this there is an evidence of the Truth, but many of them did not have any faith. 174 Yet surely your Lord is mighty and powerful. 175
