And (remember) when your Lord called Musa (Moses) (saying): "Go to the people who are Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doing), 10 and ask them, "Why do you not fear God?" 11 He replied, "Lord, I am afraid that they will call me a liar. 12 And that my breast will tighten and my tongue will not be fluent, so send for Aaron. 13 And they have a crime against me, so I fear that they shall slay me. 14 The Lord said, "Have no fear, both of you go with Our miracles. We shall closely listen to you." 15 Go, then, to Pharaoh and say to him: 'The Lord of the Universe has sent us 16 ‘That you let the Descendants of Israel go with us.’” 17 He (Pharaoh) said (to Moses): 'Did We not bring you up when you were a child? And have you not spent years of your life amongst us? 18 And thou didst the deed thou didst, being one of the ungrateful!' 19 (Moses) replied: "I did do that and I was in the wrong, 20 So I fled from you when I feared you, then my Lord granted me wisdom and made me of the apostles; 21 "And this is the past favour with which you reproach me, that you have enslaved the Children of Israel." 22 Pharaoh said, 'And what is the Lord of all Being?' 23 (Moses) said: "The Lord and Cherisher of the heavens and the earth, and all between,- if ye want to be quite sure." 24 Pharaoh said to those around him, "Did you hear?" 25 (Moses) said: "Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers from the beginning!" 26 (Pharaoh) said: 'Surely, the Messenger who has been sent to you is mad!' 27 He said, 'The Lord of the East and West, and what between them is, if you have understanding,' 28 Said he: If you will take a god besides me, I will most certainly make you one of the imprisoned. 29 Moses said: "Even if I were to bring a Clear Sign to you?" 30 Said he: Bring it then, if you are of the truthful ones. 31 Thereupon [Moses] threw down his staff - and lo! it was a serpent, plainly visible; 32 And he drew out his hand, and it appeared [shining] white to the beholders. 33
