Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
HAS THERE COME unto thee the tiding of the Overshadowing Event? 1 Many a face will be disgraced on that day. 2 Labouring (hard), weary,- 3 roasting at a scorching fire, 4 Made to drink water from the boiling hot spring. 5 No food for them save the bitterness of dry thorns, 6 Which will neither fatten nor avail against hunger. 7 (Whereas other) faces on that Day will be joyful, 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 They will live in an exalted garden 10 wherein they will not hear any vain talk. 11 Within it is a flowing spring. 12 In which are high thrones. 13 And goblets ready placed! 14 And cushions set in a row, 15 and rich carpets levelled out. 16 Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created? 17 And the heavens, how it was raised high; 18 And at the mountains, how they are rooted and fixed firm? 19 And how the earth was outstretched? 20 Then remind them! Thou art only a reminder; 21 Thou art not one to manage (men's) affairs. 22 However, those who turn away and disbelieve, 23 will be punished by God with the greatest punishment. 24 for behold, unto Us will be their return, 25 Then surely upon Us is the taking of their account. 26
