Nay, by the Moon 32 and by the night when it recedes, 33 And by the dawn when it brightens, 34 it is one of the greatest trials, 35 A warning for people -- 36 to everyone of you, whether he chooses to come forward or to hang back! 37 Every soul will be in captivity for its deeds 38 except the people of the right hand 39 In gardens, they shall ask each other 40 Concerning the culprits: 41 “What drove you to Hell?” 42 They will answer: "We were not among those who prayed; 43 "Nor we used to feed Al-Miskin (the poor); 44 We plunged in with the plungers 45 "And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 Until there came to us the certainty." 47 The mediation of no mediators will avail them then. 48 What is the matter with people that they are turning away from this Exhortation, 49 as though they were terrified asses 50 That had fled from a lion? 51 Aye! every one of them desireth that: he should be vouchsafed scrolls expanded. 52 No, indeed they have no fear of the Everlasting Life. 53 Nay; this is an Exhortation. 54 So whosoever will (let him read it), and receive admonition (from it)! 55 And they will not remember except that Allah wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for [granting] forgiveness. 56
