The Key (Al-Faatehah)

7 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir) before Thorns (Al-Masad)

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful 1

All praise is due to God alone, the Sustainer of all the worlds, 2 the Merciful, the Most Merciful, 3 the Master of the Day of Doom. 4 Thee do we serve and Thee do we beseech for help. 5 Guide us to the Straight Way 6 The Way of those on whom You have bestowed Your Grace, not (the way) of those who earned Your Anger, nor of those who went astray. 7

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
