Al-Mu' minoon 4 of 6
O YOU APOSTLES! Partake of the good things of life, and do righteous deeds: verily, I have full knowledge of all that you do. 51 Surely this community of yours is one community, and I am your Lord; so fear Me.' 52 But they split in their affair between them into sects, each party rejoicing in what is with them. 53 So leave them in their error till a time. 54 Do they think that We are helping them by giving them children and property? 55 We are hastening to them of good things? Nay, they do not perceive. 56 Those who tremble with fear of their Lord; 57 Those who believe in the Signs of their Lord; 58 who associate none with their Lord in His Divinity, 59 And those who give what they give and their hearts fear for they have to return to their Lord. 60 It is these who race for the good deeds, and they are foremost in them [e.g. offering the compulsory Salat (prayers) in their (early) stated, fixed times and so on]. 61 And [withal.] We do not burden any human being with more than he is well able to bear: for with Us is a record that speaks the truth [about what men do and can do]; and none shall be wronged. 62 Nay, but their hearts are in ignorance of this (Qur'an), and they have other works, besides, which they are doing; 63 Until, when We seize in Punishment those of them who received the good things of this world, behold, they will groan in supplication! 64 We shall tell them, "Do not cry for help on this day; you will receive none from Us". 65 My revelations were recited unto you, but ye used to turn back on your heels, 66 In scorn thereof. Nightly did ye rave together. 67 Pondered they not over the Word? or came there unto them that which came not unto their fathers ancient? 68 Or do they not recognise their Messenger, that they deny him? 69 Or do they say that he is possessed? In fact, he has brought the truth to them, but most of them abhor the truth. 70 Had the truth followed their desires, the heavens and the earth and all that is in them would have been destroyed. We sent them the Quran but they ignored it. 71 Or do you ask of them any tribute? In that case the tribute of your Lord is better, for He is the best of providers. 72 And indeed, you invite them to a straight path. 73 but, behold, those who will not believe in the life to come are bound to deviate from that way. 74 ۞ If We took compassion on them and removed the affliction they are in, they would only wander lost in confusion. 75 Already have We grasped them with punishment, but they humble not themselves unto their Lord, nor do they pray, 76 until, when We open against them a door of terrible chastisement, lo, they are sore confounded at it. 77

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
