S (Saad)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Saad* – By oath of the renowned Qur’an, (Alphabet of the Arabic language; Allah and to whomever He reveals, know their precise meanings.) 1 Nay! those who disbelieve are in self-exaltation and opposition. 2 How many a generation We destroyed before them, and they cried out when it was no longer the time for escape! 3 Now they marvel that a warner has come to them from among them; and the unbelievers say, 'This is a lying sorcerer. 4 Maketh he the gods One Allah? Lo! that is an astounding thing. 5 And the Council of them depart, saying 'Go! Be steadfast to your gods; this is a thing to be desired. 6 We heard not thereof in the later faith; this is naught but an invention. 7 Was the message sent only to him out of all of us?" In fact, they doubt My warning; in fact, they have not yet tasted My punishment. 8 Do they possess the treasures of the mercy of your Lord, the Mighty, the Great Bestower? 9 Or do they possess the dominion of the heavens and the earth and of all that is in between them? If so, let them ascend the heights of the realm of causation and see! 10 They are only a small band among the defeated confederate tribes. 11 To the truth gave the lie aforetime Noah's people, and [the tribe of] Ad, and Pharaoh of the [many] tent-poles, 12 and [the tribe of] Thamud, and the people of Lot, and the dwellers of the wooded dales [of Madyan]: they all were leagued together, [as it were, in their unbelief:] 13 not one [was there] but gave the lie to the apostles - and thereupon My retribution fell due. 14
