The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ What do they quarrel about? 1 About the great news, (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, the Quran, which Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) brought and the Day of Resurrection, etc.), 2 About which they are in disagreement. 3 Surely yes, they will soon come to know! 4 Again surely yes, they will soon come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth as a place to rest 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 and We made your sleep a rest, 9 And have made the night as a covering (through its darkness), 10 and made the day [a symbol of] life. 11 And We have built above you seven strong (heavens), 12 (the sun) as a shining torch 13 From the rain clouds We send waters pouring down in abundance, 14 In order to produce grain and plants with it. 15 And gardens of thick foliage. 16 Surely a time is fixed for the Day of Judgement. 17 It is a Day whereon the trumpet will be blown, and ye will come in multitudes. 18 and when the skies are opened and become [as wide-flung] gates; 19 and when the mountains are made to vanish as if they had been a mirage. 20 Indeed hell is lying in ambush. 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 there, they shall live for ages, 23 Therein taste they neither coolness nor (any) drink 24 Save a boiling fluid and a fluid, dark, murky, intensely cold, 25 The reward to each is according to what he is. 26 They were those who did not expect a reckoning, 27 and they rejected outright Our signs; 28 And We have kept recorded everything in a Book, accounted for. 29 "So taste ye (the fruits of your deeds); for no increase shall We grant you, except in Punishment." 30
