The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heavens are rent asunder 1 and obeys its Lord as it must, 2 And when the earth has been extended 3 and throws out of itself all that it contains 4 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must: 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 The reckoning of those whose Book of records will be given into their right hands 7 His account shall presently be taken by an easy reckoning. 8 And he shall go back to his people joyful. 9 But he who is given his ledger from behind his back 10 they will say, "Woe to us!" 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 Behold, [in his earthly life] he lived joyfully among people of his own kind 13 Verily he imagined that he would not be back. 14 Yes indeed, his Lord was ever watching him. 15 So I swear by the twilight glow 16 And the night and all it gathers, 17 And the moon when it grows full, 18 [That] you will surely experience state after state. 19 What is wrong with them that they do not believe? 20 And, when the Qur'an is recited unto them, worship not (Allah)? ۩ 21 In fact the unbelievers disavow. 22 And Allah well knows what they conceal in their hearts. 23 So give them tidings of a painful punishment, 24 But for those who believe and do good works; for them there shall be a never-ending reward. 25
