A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ AlifLaamMeemSaad. 1 This Book has been sent down to you; so do not hesitate to warn (the unbelievers) through it, and remind the faithful. 2 "Follow what has been sent down unto you by your Sustainer, and follow no masters other than Him. How seldom do you keep this in mind! 3 How many towns We have destroyed. Our scourge fell upon them by night or at midday when they were resting: 4 When (thus) Our punishment took them, no cry did they utter but this: "Indeed we did wrong." 5 Then shall We question those to whom Our message was sent and those through whom We sent it 6 Then surely, We shall narrate unto them (their whole story) with knowledge, and indeed We were not absent. 7 The weighing on that day is the true (weighing). As for those whose scale is heavy, they are the successful. 8 Those whose scale will be light, will be their souls in perdition, for that they wrongfully treated Our signs. 9 We have established you in the earth and there appointed for you livelihood; little thanks you show. 10
