The dwellers of the forest also rejected the Messengers. 176 When Shu'aib said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)? 177 Behold, I am an apostle [sent by Him] to you, [and therefore] worthy of your trust: 178 So fear Allah, and obey me. 179 my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 180 ۞ Give full measure and do not be of those who cause loss. 181 and weigh with the straight balance, 182 And do not wrong men of their things, and do not act corruptly in the earth, making mischief. 183 And guard against (the punishment of) Him who created you and the former nations. 184 They said: "Thou art only one of those bewitched! 185 for thou art nothing but a mortal like ourselves! And behold, we think that thou art a consummate liar! 186 “Therefore cause a part of the sky to fall upon us, if you are of the truthful.” 187 He said: 'My Lord knows what you are doing' 188 Then they belied him; wherefore there laid hold of them the torment of day of shadow. Verily it was the torment of a Mighty Day. 189 Verily in this was a sign, but most of them do not believe. 190 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 191
