The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ AR-RAHMAN 1 It is He Who has taught the Qur'an. 2 He created man. 3 He hath taught him utterance. 4 The sun and the moon are in a reckoning. 5 And the herbs and the trees - both (alike) prostrate in adoration. 6 He raised the sky and set the Balance 7 In order that you may not transgress (due) balance. 8 Always measure with justice and do not give short measure. 9 And the earth He has put for the creatures. 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees sheathed. 11 Husked grain and scented herb. 12 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 13 He has created man from dry, rotten clay like the potter's, 14 And He created the jinn from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 16 [He is] Lord of the two sunrises and Lord of the two sunsets. 17 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 18 He has let loosed the two seas (the salt water and the sweet) meeting together. 19 Whereas there is a barrier between them so they cannot encroach upon one another. 20 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 21 From these seas come forth pearls and coral. 22 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 23 And His are the ships going and coming in the seas, like mountains. 24 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 25

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
