The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sun is covered, 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 And when the hills are moved, 3 And when full-term she-camels are neglected 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 And by the morning when it shineth forth, 18 Verily this is the word of a noble message-bearer; 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). 21 And (O people) your companion (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is not a madman; 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 He is not chary of making public what is unknown. 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
