And truly, this (the Quran) is a revelation from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists), 192 The Trustworthy Spirit, Angel Jibreel - peace be upon him, brought it down. 193 into your heart, so that you may be a warner, 194 in the clear Arabic tongue. 195 Without doubt it is (announced) in the mystic Books of former peoples. 196 Is it not a sign to them that the learned scholars (like 'Abdullah bin Salam who embraced Islam) of the Children of Israel knew it (as true)? 197 But [even] had We bestowed it from on high upon any of the non-Arabs, 198 And had he recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We caused it (the denial of the Quran) to enter the hearts of the Mujrimun (criminals, polytheists, sinners, etc.). 200 They will not believe therein until they behold the torment afflictive. 201 The torment will strike them suddenly without their knowledge. 202 and they will say, 'Shall we be respited?' 203 Do they want to hasten Our torment? 204 Seest thou? If We do let them enjoy (this life) for a few years, 205 And then what they were promised comes upon them, 206 what avail will their past enjoyments be to them? 207 Never a city We destroyed, but it had warners 208 for a reminder, and We never harmed. 209 And the devils have not brought the revelation down. 210 Neither would it suit them, nor they can (produce it). 211 Verily, they have been removed far from hearing it. 212 So call not thou unto another god along with Allah, lest thou be of the doomed. 213 And warn thy clan, thy nearest kin. 214 and extend kindness and affection to those of the believers who follow you. 215 then, if they disobey thee, say, 'I am quit of that you do.' 216 Have trust in the Mighty, the Merciful, 217 who can see whether you stand up 218 And (seeth) thine abasement among those who fall prostrate (in worship). 219 Lo! He, only He, is the Hearer, the Knower. 220 [And] shall I tell you upon whom it is that those evil spirits descend? 221 They come to every sinful liar. 222 They pass on what is heard, and most of them are liars. 223 Only the erring people follow the poets. 224 Do you not see that they wander about in every valley 225 and say things which they do not act upon, 226 Not so the true believers who do good works and remember God with fervour and defend themselves only after they are wronged. The wrongdoers will soon know how evil a turn their affairs will take. 227
