The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Concerning what are they disputing? 1 Of the mighty Announcement, 2 Concerning which they differ. 3 Surely yes, they will soon come to know! 4 Again surely yes, they will soon come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth as a place to rest 6 and the mountains as pegs? 7 And We have created you in pairs (male and female, tall and short, good and bad, etc.). 8 and made your sleep a means of repose, 9 The night a covering, 10 and made the day for earning a livelihood. 11 Have We not made seven strong heavens above you, 12 And have appointed a dazzling lamp, 13 And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water. 14 Thereby to produce grain and plant, 15 And orchards full of trees and interlacing boughs. 16 Surely the Day of Decision is an appointed time, 17 The Day when the Trumpet will be blown, and you shall come forth in crowds (groups); 18 And the heaven shall be opened so that it shall be all openings, 19 And the mountains will be moved – they will therefore become like mirages. 20 Verily the Hell is an ambuscade: 21 A home for the rebellious. 22 therein they shall abide for ages, 23 and where they will taste neither coolness nor any drink 24 Save a boiling fluid and a fluid, dark, murky, intensely cold, 25 Recompense fitted! 26 For that they used not to fear any account (for their deeds), 27 and roundly denied Our Signs as false. 28 Everything have We recorded in a Book. 29 So taste you (the results of your evil actions); no increase shall We give you, except in torment. 30
