The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 by those that swim serenely 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 [HENCE, think of] the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world,] 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 Their looks will be downcast. 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 even after we have turned into decayed bones?" 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 When, behold, they will be in the (full) awakening (to Judgment). 14 Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa! 15 Recall what time his Lord called unto him in the holy vale of Tuwa. 16 'Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent. 17 And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)", 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 And thereupon he [went to Pharaoh and] made him aware of the great wonder [of God's grace]. 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 Then he went back hastily. 22 and then he gathered [his great ones,] and called [unto his people,] 23 and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
