O ye messengers! Eat of the good things, and do right. Lo! I am Aware of what ye do. 51 And verily this Brotherhood of yours is a single Brotherhood, and I am your Lord and Cherisher: therefore fear Me (and no other). 52 But they cut off their religion among themselves into sects, each part rejoicing in that which is with them. 53 But leave them in their confused ignorance for a time. 54 Do they think that We are helping them by giving them children and property? 55 Are quickly giving them goodness? In fact, they do not know. 56 Only those who are, out of fear of Him, humble before their Lord, 57 and believe in His messages 58 and do not ascribe partners to Him; 59 and who give whatever they [have to] give with their hearts trembling at the thought that unto their Sustainer they must return: 60 It is those who hasten to good deeds, and they outstrip [others] therein. 61 We charge no soul with more than it can bear. We have a Book with Us which speaks the truth, and they shall not be wronged. 62 In fact, the hearts of the unbelievers are in the dark because of their ignorance of real virtue; they act against it. 63 Until, when We seize in Punishment those of them who received the good things of this world, behold, they will groan in supplication! 64 Cry not for succor this day; surely you shall not be given help from Us. 65 My verses were recited to you, but you turned upon your heels, 66 [and,] impelled by your arrogance, you would talk senselessly far into the night." 67 Why did they not think over the message? Or has something come to them which had not come to their fathers? 68 Or, is it because they do not recognize their Messenger that they denied him? 69 Or do they say that he is possessed? In fact, he has brought the truth to them, but most of them abhor the truth. 70 If the Truth had been in accord with their desires, truly the heavens and the earth, and all beings therein would have been in confusion and corruption! Nay, We have sent them their admonition, but they turn away from their admonition. 71 Or is it that you ask them a recompense? But the recompense of your Lord is best, and He is the best of those who provide sustenance. 72 And indeed, you invite them to a straight path. 73 but those who do not believe in the Hereafter are ever prone to deviate from the Right Way. 74 ۞ And even were We to show them mercy and remove whatever distress might befall them [in this life,] they would still persist in their overweening arrogance, blindly stumbling to and fro. 75 We inflicted Punishment on them, but they humbled not themselves to their Lord, nor do they submissively entreat (Him)!- 76 Until when We shall open upon them a portal of severe torment, and lo! thereat they are desparing. 77
