And We had certainly given Moses the Scripture and appointed with him his brother Aaron as an assistant. 35 and We said, "Go you both unto the people who have given the lie to Our messages!" - and thereupon We broke those [sinners] to smithereens. 36 And the people of Nuh, when they rejected the apostles, We drowned them, and made them a sign for men, and We have prepared a painful punishment for the unjust; 37 And Ad and Samood and the dwellers of the Rass and many generations between them. 38 To each of them We gave warnings and each of them We destroyed completely. 39 And certainly they have (often) passed by the town on which was rained an evil rain; did they not then see it? Nay! they did not hope to be raised again. 40 And when they see you (O Muhammad SAW), they treat you only as a mockery (saying):"Is this the one whom Allah has sent as a Messenger? 41 He would have mislead us from our gods, if we had not been steadfast to them' But they shall know who is further astray from the Path when they see the punishment. 42 Have you considered him who takes his own lust for his god? Can you stand a surety for him? 43 Do you think most of them can hear or understand? They are like cattle. Indeed, they are even more astray. 44
