Therefore remind! by thy Lord's blessing thou art not a soothsayer neither possessed. 29 Or do they say: “He is a poet for whom we await an adverse turn of fortune.” 30 say [to them], "Wait then: I too am waiting along with you!" -- 31 Nay! do their understandings bid them this? Or are they an inordinate people? 32 Or do they say, "He has invented it himself"? Indeed, they are not willing to believe. 33 Let them produce a phrase like it, if what they say is true! 34 Or were they created without there being anything, or are they the creators? 35 Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay, but they have no firm Belief. 36 Do they own the treasures of your Lord? Have they any authority over God? 37 Have they a stairway whereby they overhear? Then let their listener bring an authority manifest. 38 Has (God) daughters and they sons? 39 Or is it that thou dost ask for a reward, so that they are burdened with a load of debt?- 40 Or that the Ghaib (unseen) is with them, and they write it down? 41 Or desire they to outwit? The unbelievers, they are the outwitted. 42 Have they, then, any deity other than God? Utterly remote is God, in His limitless glory, from anything to which men may ascribe a share in His divinity! 43 Even if they saw lumps falling from heaven, they would say, 'A massed cloud!' 44 So leave them alone till they meet their Day, in which they will sink into a fainting (with horror). 45 the Day when none of their scheming will be of the least avail to them, and they will receive no succour. 46 And verily, for those who do wrong, there is a punishment beyond that. But most of them know not. 47 Now await in patience the command of thy Lord: for verily thou art in Our eyes: and celebrate the praises of thy Lord the while thou standest forth, 48 And proclaim His Purity during the night, and when the stars turn back. 49
