Mutual Blaming (Al-Taghaabun)
18 verses, revealed in Medina after Prohibition (Al-Tahreem) before The Column (Al-Suff)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
All that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth extols Allah's glory. His is the sovereignty and to Him is all praise due; He has power over everything. 1 It is He who created you, though one of you is an infidel and one of you a believer; yet God perceives what you do. 2 He has created the heavens and the earth for a genuine purpose and has formed you in the best shape. To Him all things return. 3 He knows what is in the heavens and the earth, and knows what you hide and what you disclose; God knows what is in the hearts. 4 HAVE THE STORIES of those who, in earlier times, refused to acknowledge the truth never yet come within your ken? [They denied it] and so they had to taste the evil outcome of their own doings, with [more] grievous suffering awaiting them [in the life to come]: 5 That was because there came to them their Messengers with clear proofs (signs), but they said: "Shall mere men guide us?" So they disbelieved and turned away (from the truth), and Allah was not in need (of them). And Allah is Rich (Free of all wants), Worthy of all praise. 6 The unbelievers assert that they will never be raised up. Say: 'Yes indeed, by my Lord! You shall be raised up, then you shall be told the things you did. That is easy for God.' 7 Therefore believe in God and His Messenger, and in the Light which We have sent down. And God is aware of the things you do. 8 On the day that He will gather you for the day of gathering, that is the day of loss and gain; and whoever believes in Allah and does good, He will remove from him his evil and cause him to enter gardens beneath which rivers flow, to abide therein forever; that is the great achievement. 9 As for those who have disbelieved and rejected Our revelations, they will dwell forever in hell fire, a terrible fate. 10
