Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Inevitable Reality - 1 What is the Inevitable Reality? 2 And what will make you realize what the Inevitable Hour is? 3 The tribes of Thamud and 'Ad denied that disaster would strike them: 4 Then the Thamud were destroyed by an awesome upheaval; 5 and the 'Ad were destroyed by a furious wind 6 Which He imposed on them for seven long nights and eight long days so that thou mightest have seen men lying overthrown, as they were hollow trunks of palm-trees. 7 Do you see any remnants of them? 8 And Fir'aun (Pharaoh), and those before him, and the cities overthrown [the towns of the people of [Lout (Lot)] committed sin, 9 and rebelled against their Lord's Messenger. So He took them with a stern taking. 10 Lo! when the waters rose, We carried you upon the ship 11 That We might make it for you a reminder and [that] a conscious ear would be conscious of it. 12 Then, when one blast is sounded on the Trumpet, 13 and the earth and the mountains are lifted up and then crushed with a single blow, 14 On that day shall the great event come to pass, 15 And the heaven will split asunder – so on that day it will be unstable. 16 And the angels shall be on the sides thereof; and above them eight shall bear on that day your Lord's power. 17 On that Day you shall be exposed, and no secret of yours will remain hidden. 18 Then he who is given his record in his right hand will exclaim, "Here is my record, read it. 19 Surely, I knew that I should meet my reckoning," 20 Then he shall find himself in a life of bliss; 21 in a lofty Garden 22 its fruits are near. 23 Eat and drink with benefit for that which ye sent on beforehand in days past. 24 But he who is given his record in his left hand will say, "If only I had never been given my Record 25 and had not known my account. 26 How I wish my death had ended all. 27 My wealth has not availed me, 28 and my authority has vanished.” 29 Seize him and fetter him, 30 And then expose him to hell-fire 31 "Further, make him march in a chain, whereof the length is seventy cubits! 32 “Indeed he refused to accept faith in Allah, the Greatest.” 33 nor would he urge the feeding of the poor. 34 So no friend has he here this Day, 35 Nor any food except filth from the washing of wounds, 36 which only the sinners will eat.” 37
