Al-Muddath-thir 2 of 2
I say the truth, and call the moon to witness, 32 By the night when it withdraweth. 33 and by the day when it dawns (with its radiance), 34 it is one of the greatest trials, 35 a warning to mortal man 36 Unto him of you who will advance or hang back. 37 Every soul will be in captivity for its deeds 38 Except the people of the right hand, 39 in Gardens they will question 40 Concerning the guilty: 41 What hath brought you to this burning? 42 They will answer: We were not of those who prayed 43 And did not feed the needy, 44 “And used to dwell on evil matters with those who think evilly.” 45 and rejected the Day of Judgment 46 “Till death overcame us.” 47 Then the intercession of the intercessors shall not profit them. 48 Why then do they turn away from the admonition 49 As if they were frightened (wild) donkeys. 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Aye! every one of them desireth that: he should be vouchsafed scrolls expanded. 52 No indeed; the truth is that they have no fear of the Hereafter. 53 Nay, verily, this (Quran) is an admonition, 54 So whosoever will (let him read it), and receive admonition (from it)! 55 No one will seek guidance unless God wills it. He alone is worthy of being feared and He is the Source of Forgiveness. 56

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
