Have you heard the story of the honorable guests of Abraham? 24 When they came in to him, and said, "Salam, (peace be upon you)!" He answered; "Salam, (peace be upon you)," and said: "You are a people unknown to me," 25 Then he went to his home – so he brought a healthy calf. 26 He placed it before them. Then he said, "Why are you not eating?" 27 Then he conceived a fear of them (when they ate not). They said: "Fear not." And they gave him glad tidings of an intelligent son, having knowledge (about Allah and His religion of True Monotheism). 28 So his wife came screaming, and striking her forehead cried, “What! For a barren old woman?” 29 'Such, says your Lord' they replied: 'He is the Wise, the Knower' 30 ۞ [Abraham] said, "Then what is your business [here], O messengers?" 31 They said: Surely we are sent to a guilty people, 32 That we may send down upon them stones of baked clay. 33 Marked in the presence of your Lord for the transgressors." 34 So We brought forth such believers as were in it, 35 But We found in it only one household of those who had surrendered themselves, 36 And so We left therein a message for those who fear the grievous suffering [which awaits all evildoers]. 37 There is also evidence (of the Truth) in the story of Moses when We sent him to the Pharaoh with clear authority. 38 and he turned away in [the pride of] his power and said, "A sorcerer [is this Moses,] or a madman!" 39 Then We seized him and his army and cast them all into the sea: he himself [Pharaoh] was to blame. 40 And in 'Aad [was a sign], when We sent against them the barren wind. 41 Which turned everything it touched to ashes. 42 In the Thamud [there was another sign], when they were told, "Make the most of your lives for a while." 43 In response they rebelled against their Lord’s command, so the thunderbolt seized them whilst they were watching. 44 for they were unable even to rise, and could not defend themselves. 45 And [thus, too, We destroyed] Noah's people aforetime: for they were iniquitous folk. 46
