(Remember) when Abraham, said to his father and his nation: 'I am quit from what you worship, 26 Other than Him who created me. He will show me the right way." 27 And he left it as a Word to endure among those who came after him, that they may turn back (to Allah). 28 I gave them and their fathers days of enjoyment until the truth and a clear Messenger came to them. 29 And when the truth (this Quran) came to them, they (the disbelievers in this Quran) said: "This is magic, and we disbelieve therein." 30 They say, 'Why was this Koran not sent down upon some man of moment in the two cities?' 31 Is it they who would portion out the Mercy of thy Lord? It is We Who portion out between them their livelihood in the life of this world: and We raise some of them above others in ranks, so that some may command work from others. But the Mercy of thy Lord is better than the (wealth) which they amass. 32 And were it not that mankind would be one nation, We would have appointed for those who disbelieve in the All-merciful roofs of silver to their houses, and stairs whereon to mount, 33 with doors to their houses and couches on which to recline; 34 and ornaments of gold. But all of these are but the provision of this present life; it is the life to come that the Lord reserves for those who fear Him. 35
