The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ What are they asking each other about? 1 About the awesome tiding [of resurrection,] 2 About which they have been differing? 3 Indeed, they shall know! 4 Then, no! They are going to know. 5 Have We not made the earth a resting place? 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 And it is We who created you in pairs. 8 And made your sleep for rest, 9 And We made the night to be a covering, 10 And made the day as a means of subsistence? 11 And We have built above you seven firmaments, 12 And placed (therein) a Light of Splendour? 13 and have sent down from the clouds, pouring rain 14 That We may produce therewith corn and vegetations, 15 and gardens luxuriant. 16 VERILY, the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false] has indeed its appointed time: 17 The Day when the Trumpet will be blown, and you shall come forth in crowds (groups); 18 The heavens will be opened wide and turn into so many doors, 19 And the hills are set in motion and become as a mirage. 20 Truly, Hell is a place of ambush, 21 For the transgressors a place of destination: 22 therein they shall abide for ages, 23 Therein taste they neither coolness nor (any) drink 24 But boiling and intensely cold water, 25 for a suitable recompense. 26 They were those who did not expect a reckoning, 27 And called Our communications a lie, giving the lie (to the truth). 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 (They will be told), "Suffer, We shall only increase the torment for you". 30

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
