The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder 1 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] 2 And when the earth is stretched, 3 and casts forth what is in it, and voids itself, 4 And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. 5 Human being, you strive hard to get closer to your Lord, and so you will certainly receive the recompense (of your deeds). 6 Then as to him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 Soon will his account be taken by an easy reckoning, 8 and they will return to their people, delighted 9 And whoever is given his record of deeds behind his back – 10 He surely will invoke destruction 11 but he will enter the blazing flame. 12 He verily lived joyous with his folk, 13 he surely thought he would never revert. 14 Surely yes, why not? Indeed his Lord is seeing him. 15 So I swear by the afterglow of sunset; 16 And the night and that which it drives on, 17 And the moon when at the full, 18 you shall surely ride stage after stage. 19 So, wherefore do they not believe? 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 In fact the unbelievers disavow. 22 Whereas Allah knoweth best that which they cherish. 23 Therefore give them the glad tidings of a painful punishment. 24 except the righteously striving believers, who will receive a never-ending reward. 25
