The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Read! In the name of your Lord, who created: 1 Created man from a clot. 2 Read and your Lord is Most Honorable, 3 Who taught by the pen, 4 taught man what he did not know. 5 Nay, but verily man is rebellious 6 whenever he believes himself to be self-sufficient: 7 Surely your returning is to your Lord. 8 Have you seen the one who forbids 9 A slave when he prayeth? 10 Have you thought, if he had been on guidance 11 Or he commandeth piety? 12 What will happen if the prohibiting rejects the Truth and turns away from it!? 13 Does he, then, not know that God sees [all]? 14 Nay! If he (Abu Jahl) ceases not, We will catch him by the forelock, 15 by the lying forelock steeped in sin. 16 So let him now call his gang! 17 and We too will call the stern and angry keepers of hell. 18 Nay, pay thou no heed to him, but prostrate thyself [before God] and draw close [unto Him]! ۩ 19
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
