Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the (winds) sent forth in quick succession, 1 which then blow tempestuously 2 And by the winds that scatter clouds and rain; 3 And those [angels] who bring criterion 4 And those winds that bring down the remembrance. 5 excusing or warning, 6 Assuredly, what ye are promised must come to pass. 7 When the stars lose their light, 8 And when the sky is riven asunder, 9 And when the mountains are carried away by wind. 10 And when the apostles are gathered at their appointed time 11 For what Day was it postponed? 12 Upon the Day of Decision! 13 And what will explain to you what is the Day of sorting out? 14 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 15 Destroyed We not the ancients? 16 So shall We make later (generations) follow them. 17 So We serve the sinners. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Did We not create you of a mean water, 20 Then We placed it in a place of safety (womb), 21 For a period (of gestation), determined (according to need)? 22 So We proportion it-- how well are We at proportioning (things). 23 Woe, on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle, 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 And We placed therein lofty, firmly set mountains and have given you to drink sweet water. 27 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 28 Walk on to that which you called a lie. 29 Go to the shadow with three ramifications, 30 [But having] no cool shade and availing not against the flame." 31 Indeed hell throws up sparks like huge castles. 32 "As if there were (a string of) yellow camels (marching swiftly)." 33 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 34 This is the Day they shall not speak, 35 nor shall they be permitted to offer excuses. 36 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have assembled both ye and the ancients. 38 Now, if ye have a trick (or plot), use it against Me! 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
