3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
And indeed, [it was for this reason that] Noah cried unto Us - and how excellent was Our response: 75 for We saved him and his household from that awesome calamity, 76 and We made his seed the survivors, 77 and We established for him a good name among posterity. 78 "Peace upon Noah among the worlds." 79 That is how We reward those who do good. 80 he was truly one of Our faithful servants. 81 [and so We saved him and those who followed him] and then We caused the others to drown. 82 ۞ Abraham was one of his followers. 83 Behold! he approached his Lord with a sound heart. 84 When he said unto his father and his folk: What is it that ye worship? 85 "Is it a falsehood aliha (gods) other than Allah that you seek? 86 What do you imagine the Lord of the worlds to be?" 87 And he cast a glance at the stars, 88 Then said: Lo! I feel sick! 89 And they turned their backs on him and went away. (The pagans thought he would transmit the disease). 90 Then he turned to their gods and said, "Do you not eat? 91 What is wrong with you that you do not speak?" 92 Then did he turn upon them, striking (them) with the right hand. 93 Thereafter they (the people) came to him in haste. 94 He said: "Worship ye that which ye have (yourselves) carved? 95 even though God created both you and that which you have made?" 96 They said: "Build for him a building (it is said that the building was like a furnace) and throw him into the blazing fire!" 97 They wanted to harm him, but We humiliated them all. 98 And he said (after his rescue from the fire): "Verily, I am going to my Lord. He will guide me!" 99 My Lord, give me one of the righteous.' 100 We gave him the glad news of the birth of a forbearing son. 101 When he was old enough to go about with him, he said: "O my son, I dreamt that I was sacrificing you. Consider, what you think?" He replied: "Father, do as you are commanded. If God pleases you will find me firm." 102 So when they had both submitted their wills (to Allah), and he had laid him prostrate on his forehead (for sacrifice), 103 We called to him, saying: 'O Abraham, 104 You have fulfilled the vision." Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 105 For this was obviously a trial- 106 And We ransomed him with a momentous sacrifice: 107 and left him thus to be succeeded by a group [of followers] among later generations: 108 "Peace upon Abraham." 109 Thus indeed do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 110 Verily he was one of Our believing bondmen. 111 And We gave him the good news of Isaac, a Prophet and among the righteous ones. 112 We had blessed him and Isaac. Some of their offspring were righteous and others were openly unjust to themselves. 113
