We did deliver aforetime the Children of Israel from humiliating Punishment, 30 [inflicted on them] by Pharaoh, seeing that he was truly outstanding among those who waste their own selves; 31 And assuredly We elected them with knowledge above the worlds. 32 And gave signs to them in which there was a clear trial. 33 Indeed, these [disbelievers] are saying, 34 "There is nothing beyond our first death, and we shall not be raised again. 35 "Then bring (back) our forefathers, if what ye say is true!" 36 Are they better, or the people of Tubba? And those who were before them? We destroyed them; they were indeed criminals. 37 And We did not create the heavens and the earth and what is between them in sport. 38 We created them not save with a purpose but most of them know not. 39 Verily the Day of Distinction is the term appointed for all of them. 40 A Day whereon a friend shall not avail a friend at all, nor shall they be helped. 41 Except him on whom Allah has Mercy. Verily, He is the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 42
