Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the loosed ones successively 1 Which then blow violently in tempestuous Gusts, 2 by (the angels) spreading (the words of God) far and wide, 3 then winnow them thoroughly, 4 And those winds that bring down the remembrance. 5 To clear or to warn. 6 Assuredly, what ye are promised must come to pass. 7 So when the lights of the stars are put out. 8 Heavens will rent asunder. 9 And when the mountains are blown away 10 and when the messengers are brought together at the appointed time -- 11 For what day is that time fixed? 12 For the Day of Sorting out. 13 And what can make you know what is the Day of Judgement? 14 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 15 Destroyed We not the ancients? 16 So shall We make the later ones to follow them. 17 As such shall We deal with the sinners. 18 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 19 Did We not create you of a mean fluid, 20 Which We laid up in a safe abode 21 till a known term decreed? 22 See that We had the power to do so. Great indeed is Our power to do what We will. 23 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 24 Did We not make the earth a receptacle, 25 The living and the dead, 26 And We placed therein lofty, firmly set mountains and have given you to drink sweet water. 27 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 28 GO ON towards that [resurrection] which you were wont to call a lie! 29 Proceed to a shadow rising in three columns: 30 Neither having the coolness of the shade nor availing against the flame. 31 Indeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as a fortress, 32 As if they were Jimalatun Sufr (yellow camels or bundles of ropes)." 33 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 34 This is the Day they shall not speak, 35 nor shall they be given permission, so that they can apologize. 36 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have brought you and the men of old together. 38 If you have any plans, use them. 39 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 40
