Al-Taareq

The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate

By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);- 1 And what will make you know what the comer by night is? 2 It is the piercing star - 3 No soul is there but hath over it a watcher. 4 So man must consider from what he has been created. 5 He is created from a water dripping, 6 emanating from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 upon the day when the secrets are tried, 9 and he shall have no strength, no helper. 10 By the heaven which giveth the returning rain, 11 And by oath of the earth which flourishes with it. 12 this is indeed a Decisive Word, 13 It is not a thing for amusement. 14 They are devising guile, 15 And I plot a plot (against them). 16 So leave the unbelievers to themselves; respite them awhile. 17
