And indeed, We delivered the children of Israel from the shameful suffering 30 (We delivered them) from Pharaoh. Lo! he was a tyrant of the wanton ones. 31 And We chose them aforetime above the nations, knowingly, 32 and sent them revelations of which some were a clear trial for them. 33 [Now,] behold, these [people] say indeed: 34 "There is nothing but our first death, and we shall not be resurrected. 35 Bring back to life our fathers if what you say is true". 36 Are they better than the people of Tubba, and those who had lived before them, whom We destroyed as they were sinners? 37 We created not the heavens, the earth, and all between them, merely in (idle) sport: 38 We created them not except with truth (i.e. to examine and test those who are obedient and those who are disobedient and then reward the obedient ones and punish the disobedient ones), but most of them know not. 39 Verily the Day of Distinction is the term appointed for all of them. 40 The Day when no protector can avail his client in aught, and no help can they receive, 41 Except him on whom Allah has Mercy. Verily, He is the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 42
