The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 Hearts on that day shall palpitate, 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 They are [presently] saying, "Will we indeed be returned to [our] former state [of life]? 10 even after we have been reduced to bones, hollow and rotten?” 11 They say: that then shall be a losing return. 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. 14 Has the story of Moses come to you 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 but he denied it and refused [the faith]. 21 Then he went back hastily. 22 and gathered his people together 23 And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 In this, behold, there is a lesson indeed for all who stand in awe [of God]. 26
