The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
36 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Spider (Al-Ankaboot) before The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Woe to the diminishers, 1 Those who, when they take by measure from mankind, exact the full, 2 But when they have to give by measure or weight to men, give less than due. 3 What! Do they not expect that they will be raised? 4 On a mighty Day. 5 The day when everyone will stand before the Lord Of The Creation. 6 No! Indeed, the record of the wicked is in sijjeen. 7 and what could make you understand what the Sijjin is? -- 8 The record is a sealed text. 9 Woe, on that day, to those who have rejected God's revelations 10 Those who deny the Day of Justice. 11 Which none denieth save each criminal transgressor, 12 When Our revelations are recited before him, he says: "These are fables of long ago." 13 No! Rather, the stain has covered their hearts of that which they were earning. 14 Nay, but surely on that day they will be covered from (the mercy of) their Lord. 15 They will suffer the heat of fire 16 Then it will be said [to them], "This is what you used to deny." 17 Nay! Most surely the record of the righteous shall be in the Iliyin. 18 And what will make thee know whatsoever the record in Illiyun is? 19 It is a comprehensively written Book (of records). 20 Those who are drawn near (to Allah) shall witness it. 21 Truly the Righteous will be in Bliss: 22 seated on couches and gazing around in wonder. 23 You will recognize in their faces the brightness of bliss. 24 They are made to quaff of a pure drink that is sealed (to others). 25 The sealing of it is (with) musk; and for that let the aspirers aspire. 26 a wine tempered with the waters of Tasnim, 27 a source [of bliss] whereof those who are drawn close unto God shall drink. 28 BEHOLD, those who have abandoned themselves to sin are wont to laugh at such as have attained to faith 29 when they passed by them, they would wink at one another; 30 And when they returned to their household they returned jesting. 31 and when they saw the believers, they said: “Lo! These are the erring ones”; 32 No one has appointed them to watch over the believers. 33 so today those who believe shall [be able to] laugh at those who denied the truth 34 On (high) thrones, looking (at all things). 35 Have the unbelievers been rewarded for what they did? 36
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
