AND, [likewise,] indeed, the people of Al-Hijr gave the lie to [Our] message-bearers: 80 And though We had given them Our signs they turned away from them. 81 And they used to carve from the mountains, houses, feeling secure. 82 But the (mighty) Blast seized them of a morning, 83 So nothing availed them [from] what they used to earn. 84 We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is in between them except with Truth. Surely the Hour will come. So, (O Muhammad), do graciously overlook them (despite their misdeeds). 85 Surely your Lord is the All Knowing Creator! 86 We have indeed given you the seven oft-repeated (examples), and the majestic Qur'an. 87 Do not extend your eyes toward that by which We have given enjoyment to [certain] categories of the disbelievers, and do not grieve over them. And lower your wing to the believers 88 And say: "I am indeed he that warneth openly and without ambiguity,"- 89 [For, thou art the bearer of a divine writ] such as We have bestowed from on high upon those who [afterwards] broke it up into parts, 90 Those who have made the scripture bits. 91 By thy Lord, We will question them all. 92 concerning what they have been doing. 93 Preach what you have been commanded to and stay away from the pagans. 94 verily, We shall suffice thee against all who [now] deride [this message - all] 95 who set up another god with God, but they shall soon learn. 96 And We already know that your breast is constrained by what they say. 97 Exalt with the praise of your Lord and be one of those who prostrate. 98 And worship your Lord until there comes to you the certainty (death). 99
