So exhort (them, O Prophet), for by your Lord's Grace, you are neither a soothsayer nor a madman. 29 Or do they say: "(Muhammad SAW is) a poet! We await for him some calamity by time! 30 Say, "Wait, I too am waiting with you". 31 Is it their minds that bid them [to take] this [attitude] - or are they [simply] people filled with overweening arrogance? 32 Or say they: he hath fabricated it: aye they will not believe. 33 Then let them produce a statement like it, if they should be truthful. 34 Have they not been created from some source, or are they themselves the creators? 35 Or, did they create the heavens and the earth? No, their belief is not certain! 36 Or, are the treasures of your Lord in their keeping? Or, are they the controllers? 37 Or have they any stairway (unto heaven) by means of which they overhear (decrees). Then let their listener produce some warrant manifest! 38 Does God have daughters while you have sons? 39 Or askest thou (Muhammad) a fee from them so that they are plunged in debt? 40 Or possess they the Unseen so that they can write (it) down? 41 Or do they intend a plot (against thee)? But those who defy Allah are themselves involved in a Plot! 42 Or have they a deity other than Allah? Exalted is Allah above whatever they associate with Him. 43 If they should see a segment falling from the sky, they would say: "It is only a massive cloud." 44 so leave them alone till they face the Day on which they will be struck dumb, 45 the Day when none of their scheming will be of the least avail to them, and they will receive no succour. 46 And there surely awaits the evildoers a chastisement beyond even that, but most of them know it not. 47 So wait patiently (O Muhammad SAW) for the Decision of your Lord, for verily, you are under Our Eyes, and glorify the Praises of your Lord when you get up from sleep. 48 Extol His glory at night, and at the setting of the stars. 49
